What is the purpose of the Healthy Hometown Committee?
The Healthy Hometown Committee was established in 2013 to promote exercise and healthy eating for all residents of Moss Point. The Committee was instrumental in securing for the City of Moss Point a Healthy Hometown designation and grant award from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation in 2014. Beginning in 2016, the Committee has taken on a number of initiatives, including amendment of the City's smoking ban to include smokeless tobacco and electronic cigarettes.
