Event to celebrate the historic legacy of Carver High and bring alumni together at Pelican Landing

The City of Moss Point invites all alumni of Carver High School to attend a special brunch hosted by Mayor Billy Knight Sr. on Tuesday July 2 2025 at 10 AM. The event will take place at the Pelican Landing Event and Conference Center and is open to all graduates and supporters of Carver High who wish to reconnect and celebrate the school’s enduring legacy.

A School That Built a Community

Carver High School was more than just an educational institution. It was a vital part of the Black community during a time of segregation and limited opportunity. Located in Moss Point Mississippi Carver stood as a pillar of academic strength, cultural pride, and community unity. Generations of students walked its halls, going on to impact the region as educators, business leaders, public servants, and community builders!

The school’s reputation for excellence extended beyond academics. Carver was known for its discipline, its dedicated faculty, and its ability to turn adversity into achievement. Even though the school no longer operates, its legacy continues to shape Moss Point through the lives of its alumni.

A Gathering at Pelican Landing

The brunch will be held at Pelican Landing Event and Conference Center one of Moss Point’s most well-known venues for celebrations and community events. Overlooking the river and equipped with flexible meeting space, Pelican Landing offers a warm and elegant environment well suited for this beautiful event. Its atmosphere will provide the perfect setting for alumni to reconnect, share memories, and engage with city leadership in a space designed to honor the past and celebrate the present.
