Mission

The Moss Point Police Department shall faithfully serve all people within our community with dignity, equality, compassion, and respect.

The mission is to enforce the law, protect property, and reduce civil disorder in civilian matters within our community. We are committed to reducing crime and enhancing the quality of life through active partnerships with our community, federal, state, and municipal law enforcement agencies.

We will provide service with understanding, response with compassion, performance with integrity, and law enforcement with the vision to protect life and property, prevent crime, and reduce the fear of crime.

Communications

The Communication Division is one of the most vital services within the police department. The Communication Division is responsible for maintaining the essential information links between the public, police officers and other responders in the field.

Emergency Reporting System

The Emergency Reporting System (ERS) is integrated with the Moss Point Police Department. The Dispatchers answer both 911 emergency and non-emergency calls. These dispatchers are cross trained in call taking and dispatching of police, fire, and medical calls for service.
