The City of Moss Point has announced a Public Hearing to discuss its proposed budget and proposed tax levies for the upcoming fiscal year 2026. The hearing will take place on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at Moss Point City Hall, 4320 McInnis Avenue, Moss Point, Mississippi 39563.

For the current fiscal year, Moss Point is operating with projected total budget revenue of $20,720,290. Of that, 28 percent ($5,815,044) comes from ad valorem taxes.
Looking ahead, the proposed budget for fiscal year 2026 anticipates total projected revenue of $20,311,098. Of this amount, 30 percent ($6,142,640) would be financed through ad valorem taxes.
These numbers reflect the City’s effort to balance revenues while maintaining services for residents and businesses.
One of the key points of this year’s proposal is the decision to not increase the ad valorem tax millage rate above the current fiscal year’s rate. This means that residents will not see higher ad valorem taxes on homes, automobiles, utilities, business fixtures, equipment, or rental property, unless the assessed value of a property has increased.
