The Moss Point Fire Department is partnering with the American Red Cross and community sponsors to bring an important life-saving campaign to our city.
This initiative aims to protect families by ensuring every home has working smoke alarms and the knowledge to respond quickly in case of fire. According to the Red Cross, working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death from home fires by 50 percent!
Residents and volunteers are invited to join two key events at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 3913 Macphelah Road, Moss Point, MS 39563:
Saturday, November 1 | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Volunteers will canvas Moss Point neighborhoods, placing doorhangers and sharing information on how to sign up for free smoke alarms.
Saturday, November 8 | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Installation teams will visit homes to install free smoke alarms and provide fire safety education.
You can make a real impact by volunteering to help canvass neighborhoods or join installation day.
Sign up online at SoundTheAlarm.org/mississippi or call (205) 439-7879 for more information.
This campaign is made possible through collaboration between the American Red Cross, Moss Point Fire Department, State Farm, FEMA, Ingalls Shipbuilding, Chevron, and the City of Moss Point.
Just one day of your life can change someone else’s forever.
Join us in protecting our community, one home, one family, one alarm at a time.
