Community development creates and stimulates balanced growth in the community for the future of our families through participative democracy, sustainable development, rights, equality, economic opportunity, and social justice. 

Vision

Our vision is to address the needs of the entire Moss Point community by increasing citizen awareness and implementing access to opportunities and services necessary to move them forward and closer to sustainable productivity. 

How Community Development Works

Priority needs for the City of Moss Point's Community Development are outlined in the City's Five-Year Consolidated Plan, which consists of a diverse range of pressing needs for:

  • Housing Rehabilitation
  • New Affordable Housing
  • Sanitary Sewer
  • Drainage

Public Notice of Availability 2019

The State of Mississippi, six entitlement cities, and 50 Public Housing Authorities are currently conducting a fair housing study known as the “Analysis of Impediments” (AI). This study is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a condition for receiving federal housing and community development funds.

This AI process includes soliciting the opinions of people throughout the State, as well as those involved in the housing industry, including renters and homeowners. As such, you are being invited to take part in this survey to provide your opinions and experiences regarding fair housing.
