The City of Moss Point invites residents, property owners, and business owners to a public meeting about the Moss Point I-10 redevelopment plan on Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Moss Point City Hall, 4320 McInnis Avenue. The meeting covers the Interstate 10 Redevelopment Plan and Complete Streets Project Prioritization Plan, which sets priorities for proposed street projects in the area surrounding the interstate.

What the Moss Point I-10 redevelopment plan will prioritize
The National Complete Streets Coalition describes Complete Streets as an approach to planning, designing, building, operating, and maintaining streets so they are safe for everyone who needs to use them, whether they are walking, biking, driving, or riding transit, at every age and ability.
This plan applies that approach to proposed projects that would support redevelopment in the area around Interstate 10, and it will prioritize:
- Transportation and pedestrian connectivity
- Economic growth
- Community development
- Sustainable and resilient growth
- Infrastructure connectivity
- Cost effectiveness
The meeting is your chance to discuss the proposed projects and share which ones matter most to you.
Planning for growth along the interstate
The area along Interstate 10 is among the City’s top targets for new business, and in September, Mayor Billy Knight told WLOX that the City had cleared the regulatory hurdles for its I-10 corridor project and was searching for a contractor. That project will add a service road and revitalize the area around the Pilot truck stop, and as the Mayor put it, “Once you get the infrastructure in the ground, the service roads built, there’s no telling what’s going to pop up there.”
With this plan, the City is setting priorities for the streets around that growth, so residents and businesses have a say in what comes first. You can read more about the corridor, which the City calls The River City Mile, on the Investment In Moss Point site, along with its plans for new service roads on both sides of I-10.
When and where to go
The public meeting is Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Moss Point City Hall, 4320 McInnis Avenue, Moss Point, MS 39563. Every citizen is welcome, and the City wants to hear from you whether you live near the interstate or across town.
