The 2025 Mississippi Gulf Coast Youth Football League Championships ended in triumph for the Pee Wee Moss Point Tigers, as our football teams and cheer squad delivered a powerful finish to an unforgettable season. From breathtaking final plays to flawless cheer routines, our young athletes proved what happens when hard work, heart, and community come together.
It doesn’t get more exciting than this. Our 6U Tigers clawed their way to a 19–18 Super Bowl victory that came down to the final moments. These young athletes showed extraordinary poise and precision well beyond their years. For many, this was their very first taste of competitive football, and their first championship win. What a beginning!
Their victory wasn’t luck though. It was the result of fundamentals, teamwork, and hours of practice under the watchful eyes of patient coaches and proud parents. Every tackle, every cheer, every ounce of focus mattered. The smallest Tigers proved that greatness starts young.
The 8U, 10U, and 12U squads each earned runner-up titles, but their effort and drive told a story of champions in every sense.
The 8U team fell just short at 8–13, showcasing grit and tremendous progress. The 10U Tigers battled through a high-intensity 14–19 game, playing with developing strategy and heart. And the 12U team, competing in one of the toughest divisions, fought valiantly in a hard-hitting 7–27 matchup that displayed their courage and sportsmanship to the very end.
Every one of these teams brought pride to Moss Point. They played with discipline, represented their city with honor, and left everything on the field.
The winning didn’t end with touchdowns. Moss Point’s cheer squad dominated their competition, taking home the MGCYFL Cheer Championship title! Their energy electrified the crowd, their routines were crisp, and their unity reflected months of dedication.
Cheerleading at this level is no easy feat. It demands athletic precision, flawless timing, and an unbreakable bond among teammates. These young athletes balanced strength with grace, lifting the spirits of every Tiger in the stands. They embodied what it means to perform with both heart and excellence.
Behind every touchdown and trophy stands an army of coaches, parents, and community supporters who make it all possible.
Coaches: The Tigers’ coaching staff are volunteers who give their time freely. They’re mentors happily shaping the next generation. They teach accountability, teamwork, and resilience, showing young athletes what it means to lead with character.
Parents and Families: Every game day ride, every washed uniform, every late night pep talk matters. The families of Moss Point are the heartbeat of this program. Their support fuels the drive that keeps our kids growing both on and off the field.
Community Support: From the City of Moss Point Parks & Recreation Department to the Mississippi Gulf Coast Youth Football League, this championship season is proof of what happens when a community invests in its youth. It’s about more than competition. It’s about building a foundation for strong, capable young leaders.
The real value of youth sports isn’t measured in points or trophies, it’s found in the lessons learned.
Character: Every play teaches teamwork, humility, and perseverance.
Health: Every practice builds strength, coordination, and discipline.
Community: Every sideline connection strengthens Moss Point’s spirit.
Future: Every experience prepares our youth for challenges in school, work, and life.
These young athletes are learning far more than how to win, they’re learning how to grow, lead, and overcome.
As the 2025 season closes, Moss Point stands proud. The 6U champions will rise to new challenges next year. The runner-up teams will return stronger, smarter, and hungrier. And our cheerleaders have set a gold standard for spirit and performance.
To our players, coaches, parents, and supporters, thank you for making this season one to remember.
Congratulations, Tigers. You didn’t just win games, you strengthened a community. And Moss Point couldn’t be prouder!
